About Threads

Until recently, the only way to address problems caused by facial skin laxity – such as jowls and drooping cheeks – was facelift surgery. Enter...Threads! A thread lift is a type of procedure wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin. Instead of removing the loose facial skin surgically, the provider simply suspends it by stitching up portions of it. This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore lifting and tightening the face. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat aging in another way: by provoking the body's "healing response" and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas.

LIFTING

A thread lift is a non-surgica, minimally invasive lifting of the skin. Threads can be used to lift brows, improve eyelid heaviness, lift the mid face, sharpen the jawline, improve jowling & tighten the neck

Sagging knees, often ignored, show visible signs of aging and naturally has looser skin. Threads can be a great addition to many aesthetic treatments and can be applied to lift the skin around the knees.

Breasts not the same as they used to be? Many patients, especially after feeding or aging, feel their breasts have started to sag a little. Threads lift the tissues subtly back to where they use to be. This is an excellent treatment for patients with small breasts who just want a little uplift without the volume that implants can cause.

COLLAGEN

Smooth threads can be used virtually anywhere on the face or body. Thinner than hair and made of protein, the threads are inserted below the skin to elicit a mild injury that the body responds to by adding structural proteins (fibrin, elastin, collagen), resulting in a smoother, plumper appearance.

Threads are placed under and around the scars to promote collagen production and smooth the skin. Typical treatment requires three rounds of thread placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Thread lifts are a safe and effective treatment option for patients who want to refresh their skin without undergoing surgery. Also known as a thread lift, we complete this in-office procedure with long-lasting, dissolvable sutures that lift and contour the complexion. While gently lifting the cheeks and decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, threads reduce droopy skin around the middle of the face, which makes the complexion look smoother and tighter. During the procedure, we use threads that also stimulate the production of collagen, which will further enhance your skin’s appearance and health.

Because threads are relying on your body to increase collagen and elastin production to lift and tighten the skin, the results look completely natural. You’ll have an improved appearance, but you won’t look as though you had some type of surgical procedure done to achieve younger-looking skin.

The longevity of thread lift results can vary from patient to patient. However, the typical length of results is about 12 – 18 months. Follow-up treatments and additional procedures can also be scheduled to help maintain your results.
